In my 12 years experience with AFAQ, after discussions with hundreds of principles, teachers students and parents in different parts of Pakistan I have reached the conclusion that
our childrens are ruined instead of educated in most of the educational institutions.
Parents expect by sending their children to schools that the school is responsible for the education/training of their children.
But the parents fail to realize that the modern schooling itself face many problems and challanges Like, young and in-experienced/untrained teachers and administrators. The race for higher scores, the excessive use of social media and the materialistic and corporate attitude of schools. Many programs of educational institutions specially private have marketing focus instead of the personality development. These all are hurdles and obstacles in the way of educating/trainig a child.
Many of the parents believe that only the schools is responsible for the training/educating thier child.
Learning centers can be many like schools, madrassa, play grounds, hujra, and so on but the most important of all these learning ceters , is home. The house is not only a place to eat, watch TV and play but also a training center.
Modern research has shown that the cause of many psychological/mental illnesses in a child is the inappropriate parenting styles.
We continue to train our children in the same way as the parents have trained us. If our training is good. So there is an opportunity that we will be able to train our children well. If parents do not fulfill their responsibilities in this regard, their children will be weak in many ways.
Research has proved that children Reading impairment is directly related to the poor training of children.
According to Horward Research, when children and parents do not get along well with each other, the child's creativity is reduced by 70%.
Parents are the child's first teacher.
Mother's lap is the child's first school.Parents are full-time trainers While schools provide short-term training. According to OSPI research, the role of parents in educating children is 82%, while that of school 15% and that of society 3%.This recearch tell us that important is the role of the parents in educating thier children.
Forty organizations from around the world conducted a study on successful people and collected their 15 habits. The No1 habit of these successful people was :they all considered thier children a precious gift.
Parents cannot place the responsibility of its children on anyone else. This is their primary responsibility. But the most of parents are not motivated in this regard. Human psychology is that, they want to get immediate reward for their work.
They know that they will get the fruits of their hard work in this regard after 25 or 30 years. Psychologically, they are often unprepared for this task and dont give proper attention to thier children
It is not necessary for the parents to be experts in the training of the children, but they should be concerned in this regard. They should train themselves and continue the process of continuous learning.
Parents, if they know how to train their children, can turn any activity at home into sports, eating, feasting, gossiping, walking and other small activities into learning opportunities, which can have a positive effect on the mental and physical development of their children.
